Voyager Wellness Foundation ("we," "our," or "us") operates Wellness Pathfinder, a browser-based education wellness platform. The underlying technology is developed by Voyager Data Corporation (VDC). This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect information when you use Wellness Pathfinder.
We collect limited information depending on how you interact with Wellness Pathfinder:
We do not intentionally collect sensitive personal data.
We use information to:
Wellness Pathfinder is designed with a local-first approach. No account is required to use the app. Your progress, settings, and activity data are stored in your browser's local storage by default โ they never leave your device unless you explicitly choose to create an account.
An optional account sync feature (coming soon) will allow you to back up and restore your data across devices. This is entirely opt-in and not required for any core functionality.
Contact information you choose to provide is stored securely and used only for communication you request.
Wellness Pathfinder is hosted on Vercel, which may process limited technical information (such as request metadata) as part of delivering and securing the service.
We do not store your progress on our servers unless you explicitly opt in to account sync.
Some features let you enter a ZIP code or use your device location to find nearby outdoor activities and weather. To return results, limited location data is sent to third-party services โ OpenStreetMap/Nominatim (address lookup), Zippopotam (ZIP lookup), and Open-Meteo (weather) โ which process it to respond to your request.
We keep your saved location on your device. If you create an account, your ZIP code is also stored on our servers to personalize activities. We do not sell your location data and do not use it for advertising.
We do not share your personal information in identifiable form. All external data sharing uses anonymized, aggregated data only. Anonymized data may be transferred to Voyager Data Corporation (VDC), which develops the technology, under a Data Sharing Agreement. VDC handles all external licensing.
Aggregated usage data (feature engagement, session patterns, wellness practice trends) is used internally to improve Wellness Pathfinder. We design our analytics to avoid identifying you: usage events are recorded under a random device identifier and are not tagged with your name, email, or account. Because standard web technologies (such as IP address and cookies) are involved, we describe this data as pseudonymous rather than fully anonymous. We do not attempt to re-identify individuals from usage data. No data is shared externally under this category.
VDC may license anonymized, aggregated data to accredited universities and research institutions. Conditions for any such transfer include: (1) institutional review board (IRB) approval or equivalent ethical oversight; (2) de-identification meeting HIPAA Safe Harbor or k-anonymity standards; (3) no re-identification of individual users; and (4) results published in peer-reviewed venues only. You will receive notice and an opt-out opportunity in your account settings before any academic licensing begins.
VDC may license anonymized, aggregated data to health organizations and wellness companies. Data licensed under this category is aggregated only, and licensed data may never be used for employment, insurance, credit, or underwriting decisions of any kind. You will receive notice and an opt-out opportunity in your account settings before any commercial licensing begins. Licensees are contractually prohibited from re-identifying users.
VDC may enter data exchange agreements with complementary wellness or health platforms. The same anonymization and security standards apply as in commercial licensing. You will receive notice and an opt-out opportunity before any such exchange begins.
We use PostHog, a privacy-focused analytics tool hosted in the United States, to understand how Wellness Pathfinder is used in an aggregated manner. PostHog helps us analyze general usage patterns and improve the experience. We do not use analytics to identify individual users, and we do not use cross-site tracking.
HIPAA note: Pathfinder is not a healthcare provider, health plan, or clearinghouse, and is not a HIPAA "covered entity" or "business associate." HIPAA does not apply to the information you enter here. References to HIPAA de-identification standards describe the technical standard we apply to aggregated data, not a claim that HIPAA governs Pathfinder.
Depending on your location, you may have the right to:
You may contact us to make these requests.
Voyager Wellness Foundation is a nonprofit and is generally not a "business" subject to the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA/CPRA). As a matter of policy, we voluntarily honor CCPA/CPRA-style rights where practical:
To exercise these rights, please contact us at voyager.wellness.foundation@gmail.com
Wellness Pathfinder is designed with a local-first approach. Your progress, settings, and activity data are stored in your browser's local storage, not on our servers.
To delete your local data:
If you have contacted us by email and wish to delete your contact information from our records, please email us at voyager.wellness.foundation@gmail.com
We use pseudonymous product analytics and optional feedback to improve Pathfinder during this preview period. Your journal text and reflection content stay on your device and are never sent to analytics. Some practice inputs (such as energy or stress check-in values) are recorded pseudonymously to understand how practices are used; they are not tagged with your name, email, or account.
We may use session replay tools to understand how people navigate Pathfinder. These recordings capture interactions under the same random device identifier as analytics and are not tagged with your name, email, or account.
Wellness Pathfinder uses minimal, first-party cookies or similar technologies necessary for basic functionality and privacy-respecting analytics.
We do not use third-party advertising cookies or cross-site tracking technologies.
Wellness Pathfinder is intended for adults 18 and older. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If you believe a minor has provided us information, contact us and we will delete it.
Local data persists in your browser until you clear it. Server-side records (if you create an account or contact us) are kept only as long as needed for the purpose collected, then deleted. Analytics data is retained in aggregated form.
We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect information, but no method of transmission or storage is completely secure.
Some browsers send a "Do Not Track" signal. Because there is no common standard, we do not respond to DNT signals; however, we limit tracking as described in this policy.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Updates will be posted on this page with a revised "Last updated" date.
